Because Time Is All We Have

About Us

Why Northwest Jet? It began as an evolution of our customer base in the backcountry aircraft business. We were never sitting in fancy offices selling planes; we have always been pilots and aircraft enthusiasts that turned our passion into a rewarding business. Starting as competitors, we joined forces 16 years ago and now have a runway view corner office in the best FBO in Idaho at Jackson Jet Center. We recently celebrated our 16th year anniversary as what we like to call “real aircraft dealers.” On the piston side, we own and operate one of the largest, longest lasting “adventure/bush plane” dealerships, Northwest Backcountry Aircraft. With 30,000 sq. ft. of hangar space and a healthy inventory in addition to representing three new aircraft manufacturers, NBA continues to be a leader.

How did we expand to form Northwest Jet? It was a natural progression of our existing business. Over the years we found that a large portion of our backcountry customers trusted us with their larger aircraft purchases and sales. They bought or sold a fun plane and came back for a turbine powered work/business aircraft. We have sold jets and turboprops of all types, piston aircraft of all types including many types of war birds… from P-51’s to Japanese Zeros, and helicopters of all types… civilian general use to Cobra Gunships. We have exported to Canada (regularly), Brazil, Australia, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Germany, Africa and New Zealand.

Why use Northwest Jet on your next purchase or sale? We are airplane owners, experienced pilots and have a unique big picture perspective due to our diversity and combined 40 plus years in the aircraft business.

Clients range in knowledge and sophistication and we guide them through the choices from a pilot’s and business owner’s perspective. We work through all the challenges to facilitate the transaction. Financing, inspections, insurance, mission requirements, delivery, training and boxing it up or flying it where it needs to go is what we do.

We have many clients that have purchased or sold 5 or 6 different aircraft through our company. To quote an article from an aviation magazine written by Tim Kern, “Bob’s experience as an unlimited Reno air racer and pro pro world champion motocross racer gave him an eye and ear for testing, and it intensified his inherent perfectionist traits.” Kasey, he says, is just as focused. In fact as customers Bob explains, “We are your worst nightmare. We’re very picky and we know how we like to be treated.” We treat our customers the same way. We don’t wear alligator loafers or fancy suits. We run a lean operation and pass the savings on to clients. We fly often and are proud of our customer service. Our clients include two of the nation’s largest retailers, one of the wealthiest men in the world, fortune 500 tech CEO, railroad owners and operators and an energy drink maker that is arguably the largest promoter and supporter of sport aviation in the world.

We laugh, fly and cuss our way through the days. Buying or selling a plane should be detailed and meticulous but we never forget to have fun.
